David Keith Smilie (1944-2020) 
David "Dave" was born in Grand Junction, Colorado. As the son of a military father, he lived in Germany and Kansas before settling in Colorado Springs. He attended Wasson High School and Mesa College where he was a member of both choir and theater.
He moved to California and married Marilyn Sohl in 1966. Together, they had two children. They divorced in 1982. Dave worked as an ambulance driver prior to starting his career as a telephone repairman. He spent 35 years working for Pacific Telephone/AT&T/Lucent/Avaya. He married Martha Woodcock in 1985. Together, they had one child. They divorced in 1988.
Dave loved the outdoors, camping and fishing. Later in life, he spent countless hours working on the family tree.
